Kriya: kriya means action that is evolutionary. in yoga they are repetitive movements, mantra and breath practices that impact your being on the level of the mind, body and energy.
Impacts the subtle body: releases bio-memory in the cells and awakens dormant energy.
Rewires the brain and increases activity in the pre-frontal cortex (the area responsible for higher functioning). If this part of brain the brain is more active, you have access to better decision making.
With consistent practice Kriya resets nervous system so that you have more access to the relaxation response in stressful situations (accessing the parasympathetic nervous system rather than the sympathetic nervous system).
Shifts limiting thoughts and patterns.
Impacts the neuro-chemical environment of the brain with the potential to produce serotonin, oxytocin and dopamine. The result being more joy and less stress.
