This training is for you if you want to teach, deepen your practice, understand yourself and your body, or learn more about the sacred teachings of yoga.
Why Awake’s YTT is unique?
Lead trainer, Anjali brings 25+ years experience in the psychology field with her extensive studies of Sattva Yoga in India as well as her background in Vinyasa yoga to create a rich experience. You will walk away not only knowing how to teach a yoga class, but also with a powerful experience of connection to yourself, your community and the sacred teachings.
WHY THIS TRAINING & ABOUT CATHY CONNORS:
It is a combination of Vinyasa and Sattva Yoga. You will learn how to teach a vinyasa class and learn how to integrate practices from Sattva Yoga into a class and your life. These include kriya, pranayama, laya and wisdom.
The program leader, Dr. Cathy Connors, is a psychologist, who uses her deep knowledge of human behavior and experience to enrich her trainings and teachings. This will be the 9th teacher training that she has led. Cathy has been a yoga teacher since 2009, taken multiple trainings herself and traveled to India 8 times to further her studies. She is one of very few teachers in the States that teaches the Sattva Yoga Kriyas.

TEACHER TRAINING CURRICULUM:
I. PHYSICAL BODY:
You will step away from this program with an in depth understanding of the asana (physical poses) and how to structure a class that is intelligent in the body. Alignment, anatomy, and some assisting will all be addressed in this training.
You will learn about the glandular system, nervous system, the brain and how yogic practices impact these systems.
II. SUBTLE BODY:

Cue the asana and the breath during class
Incorporate pranayama, kriya and mantra to deepen students' experience

Feel the energy of a class to co-create an experience

Teaching special populations: beginners, those with physical injuries and limitations, trauma
